  • About me

I am currently a fourth seat trainee, working in the Employment department. My role as a trainee in this department involves assisting on transactional, advisory work together with working on contentious matters that are heading to the Employment Tribunal. The variation in work means that I am experiencing different types of client relationships, as on some matters, our client is the employee and in other matters, we are instructed by the employer.

My previous seat was in the Private Client Team. Here, I was involved in a large amount of drafting, including Wills, LPAs, inheritance tax returns and the accompanying correspondence to go with each. I was regularly involved with assisting fee earners on various stages of the probate process. Within this seat, due to the nature of the work, I had a significant amount of client contact and this is something which I really enjoyed.

My second seat was in the Commercial Property department, in which I drafted a number of documents in relation to landlord and tenant matters. I also assisted on two large scale refinances during my time in this seat. In this department, I had conduct of several small-scale property sales and lease assignments, which I saw through to completion. I enjoyed the responsibility that I was given in this department.

I completed my first seat in the Family department. This seat involved working on both matrimonial and private children law matters. I was lucky to have worked with Counsel a number of times in this seat; including attending Court and a round-table meeting at Counsel’s chambers during this time. I frequently met with clients in this department, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

I joined Taylor Walton in 2024.
